I agree with Augustine when he said that "if nothing passed, there would be no past time; if nothing were going to happen there would be no future time; and if nothing were there would be no present time".
There's nothing more "familiar" to us than time. Everything in our lives has to do with time. When we make an appointment we say the day and the hour; when we are going to a place we need to take time to get to that place; we have a specific time to present an exam; everything has to do with time.
There are a lot of theories about traveling through time, but I really don't think that it can happen. If we could travel in time, we could change things and the future would be different than how was going to be.
We have to be focused on living the present. The past has already gone and maybe the future will never come. Live today!
I agree with many of the quotes you say. I think we need to live our lives today and not wait for tomorrow or other day, if we could make things today, we do we make them tomorrow or other days. I think that we should make all our chores and live our lives the best we can because even tough time doesn't have an end, life does have.
ResponderEliminarI agree with you, there is nothing more familiar to us than time, I mean not just everything in our lives depends on time, but our life itself is determined by time, we are born and then we die. But I think that it is not enough just to live in the present, but we have to think too about the past and the future, because we like it or not they are kind of part of our present, they make it what it is.
ResponderEliminarI like when you say that time is the one thing that is always there, and that everything we do or will do relates to time; as Savater puts it movement depends on time. This I believe it to be very true since time is the one thing that passes so quickly we can't even call something "now". I think its funny how we recall time even unconsciously for when we state a date like you said, we give a time and even though we can't explain clearly how time passes one knows when that time is going to come. I think time is something that even though we can't comprehend it rules our lives in some ways.
